1. Introduction - Preoperative functional evaluation - Surgical access and type of lung resection 2. Lung cancer: diagnosis, staging and surgical treatment 3. Infections and chronic infiammatory lung disease - Acute infective disease 4. Pneumothorax - Chest drain 5. Bullectomy, lung volume reduction and lung transplantation 6. Pleural empyema - Chylothorax 7. Recurrente pleural effusion - Pleural mesothelioma 8 Open and blunt chest trauma 9. Carcinoid - Lung metastases 10. Mediastinal tumors - Myasthenia gravis 11. Tracheal stenosis - Tracheal tumors 12. Chest wall tumors - Congenital chest wall deformity
